My theories on belly fat reduction

Theories on belly fat:

--->  Do more overall muscle group exercises in cardio. Spot reduction is a bogus.
--->Few abdominal exercises are very effective. Especially Planks are the best.
--->  Eat min 4-5 times a day (small meals). That keeps your metabolism rate high.
--->  Never miss breakfast.
--->  Eat less carbs and more of vegetables and nutritious food.
--->  Avoid sugars as much as possible. Sugar is the enemy and the silent killer.
--->  No processed foods / artificial sweeteners / canned drinks strictly.
--->  Avoid stress. It induces cortisol and settles in the stomach.
--->  Have vitamin C to burn cortisol, whenever you are stressed.
--->  Lose overall body weight. Hence perform HIIT (High-Intensity Interval Training).
--->  Have dinner before 8 pm. At least 3 hrs gap before sleep. Sleep is for min 6-7 hrs a day.
--->  If your metabolism is not good, you may have a bloated stomach. Thyroid conditions, diabetes etc. can be the reasons behind slow metabolism.
--->  Sitting with a curved back may result in all the fat accumulating around your stomach area. It may also lead to hyperlordosis or pelvic tilt (protruding gut and a huge butt).
--->  A sedentary lifestyle is one of the major causes behind the occurrence of belly fat. A couch potato.
--->  Exercise min 45 min to 1 hour a day.
--->  Eat more of:
-Almonds
-Yogurt
-Banana
-Green vegetables
--->  Eat healthy in the morning. It helps metabolism
--->  Make salads the main star of the meal, as you get filled soon and does not have more calories.
--->  Drink lots of water. This will prevent water retention and will help to flush out any toxins from your body.
--->Wheatgrass is THE most effective food for removing toxins from the body and thereby helping in good weight management. Have 2 teaspoons on wheatgrass with warm water daily first thing in the morning. Do not have with anything else. Give a gap of at least half an hour gap until you have your breakfast.
--->  Do not entirely skip carbs. Instead, try to eat a limited amount of carbs every day to keep your body’s need for carbohydrates in check. For instance, if you like roti cut it down to 1 roti instead of 2 or 3. If you totally cut down on carbs or food in general, you will lose muscle mass instead of fat.
--->Dieting is totally a wrong concept which no one should follow. It nay temporarily reduce your weight by reducing the muscle mass, but it leads to serious health problems in the long run. Eat more (nutritional food), at least every 3 hours a day to keep your metabolism high which helps in great weight maintainace.
--->  Always go light on dinner. Dinner is the time when your body starts to wind down for the day, so stay away from anything heavy. Plan a light meal for the night, like a clear soup, ane roti with half a cup of salad or curryl, or maybe just fruits and a glass of milk.
--->Have rich amount of fibre everyday. Best is to have 2 teaspoons of flax seeds.
---> Last but not the least, plan on getting enough sleep. Sleep early since you’re having a light dinner. Staying up late will make you feel hungry again and you’ll need to eat.

Me And My Life :)

Dear brothers and sisters,
Here I am, all set to create my fresh blog with lots of enthusiasm, about my favorite subject- fitness! Yay!
Before I talk anything about fitness at all, let me  introduce myself and a li'l about my life  :) I am Gayathri Kashyap, from the beautiful Garden City; IT Capital; Readers’ hub; and yes, the most warm, educated and cultured society in India, the pleasant city of Bengaluru :) I’m just so happy and proud to introduce my wonderful city, although it just happens to be my new home post marriage. I was born and brought up in the lovely city of Hyderabad, the capital of the neighboring state, Andhra Pradesh. Both places are very similar in terms of the people, culture, traditional values and the lifestyle. However, Bangalore has been my love ;) Don't ask me why! ;D :P Therefore, I am so thankful to God for making this my permanent home :)

Now, coming to myself, I am a simple and an expressive girl. I believe in treating all kinds of people around me with love and respect. The day you know the truth that everyone around you is what they are, because of their upbringing, or the circumstances that designed their lives, you have understood life pretty well. So, I don't like to judge at all. Although, sometimes I happen to do that, I tell myself not to do it again. I change for the better that way.

And the most important fact, which is way beyond the imagination of our materialistic lives; is that we are all parts and parcels (Jivatmaas) of  the Supreme (the Paramatman). We do not want these clutches of life and death. We need to go back to the Godhead. So spirituality plays an important role in my life (not religion).

"We are what our thoughts are" is a fact that I truly believe. So, the quality of our life is determined by the quality of our thoughts.

Live simply, Love generously, Care deeply and Speak kindly.

The fit body

FITNESS

Hello folks!

I would love to share whatever knowledge I have acquired about fitness, because I want everybody to know the importance of fitness in today's world and practice it properly. The reason why I emphasize the word 'today' is, because we have the least physical activity, when compared to the days prior technological advancements. In today's society that is moving towards a more sedentary lifestyle, there is a greater need than ever to increase the daily activity level to maintain both cardiovascular fitness and body weight. In golden olden days, people had exercise in literally every task. Today, we have machines doing our jobs. We are leading comfortable lives, but, really? Are they giving us good health? Without fitness, we're all suffering from various health issues on a day to day basis.

The importance of physical fitness cannot be emphasized enough. A person who is fit is capable of living life to its fullest extent. Physical and mental fitness play very important roles in your lives and people who are both, physically and mentally fit are less prone to medical conditions as well.

What is fitness (in layman's terms)?

Fitness means being in good physical condition or being healthy. Fitness means having more energy and better sleep patterns. A person who is fit is also able to carry out tasks more easily.

Why should I be fit?

Fitness is not all about having bulging muscles, a small waist or being thin. It is the ability of the body to perform with vigour and alertness. Fitness specifically takes into account the muscular strength, cardio respiratory endurance, flexibility and muscular endurance.

Fitness may help prevent certain diseases such as high blood pressure, diabetes, stroke, cancer, and heart disease. If you already have one of these diseases, you may be able to better control it if you are fit. To be more fit you may need to make some changes in your eating and exercise habits.

How can I make some healthy changes?

It is not easy to change eating and exercise habits. A first step is to decide that health and fitness are important to you. This will make it easier for you to make time in your day to prepare healthy foods and exercise regularly.

To help improve your eating habits:

• Choose a variety of foods from all the food groups including fruit, vegetables, whole grains, low fat milk products, and lean meats.
• Choose foods that are high in fiber (fruit, vegetables, whole grains). Limit foods that are high in fat and sodium. Use herbs and spices to add extra flavor to foods.
• Learn to say “no” to second helpings when you are not hungry. Include a snack between meals only when you are hungry.
• Ask how foods are prepared in restaurants. Fried foods have more fat than baked or broiled foods. Ask for salad dressings “on the side” so you can use smaller amounts.
• Do include foods that may be higher in fat but only in small amounts and only as an occasional treat.
• Read food labels to help you learn about portion sizes, calories, fat, sodium, and fiber in various foods.
• Keep a daily food diary to help keep you on track.
• Set goals for making changes. Give yourself credit for even small changes.

To help improve your exercise habits:

• If you are over 40 or have a medical problem, see your doctor before you start exercising.
• Find an exercise partner (if you choose), and stick to a regular time to exercise.
• Plan for indoor exercise on “bad weather” days.
• Walk the stairs instead of using the elevator.
• Park far away from work or the store and walk the extra distance.
• Take a few minutes more to walk at the mall after shopping.
• Keep a daily exercise diary.
• Choose an exercise or activity that is fun. You are more likely to do exercise which you enjoy.
• Start out slowly with 5 to 10 minutes. Add 5 minutes every few days until you are burning between 1500 and 2000 calories each week. Burning these many calories may be easier than you think.

Even if you cannot exercise every day, do what you can. Remember a little exercise is better than no exercise.
What is most important is that you find activities and exercise you like to do and healthy foods you like to eat. This will help you to get started on the road to fitness.
